TEEMU SELANNE INDUCTED INTO THE IIHF HALL OF FAME

Teemu Selanne has been inducted into the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Hall of Fame. His class also included another Finn, Saku Koivu, Uwe Krupp (Germany), Dieter Kalt (Austria) and Joe Sakic and Angela Ruggiero from Canada and the US, respectively.

“It has been an honour to put this jersey on,” Selanne said. “You can’t describe this feeling of what it means to put this jersey on and play for your own country. I am so very thankful. The more time that passes since my retirement the more I appreciate accolades like this.”

The only thing missing from Selanne’s impressive resumé is a Hockey Hall of Fame induction, which is expected to happen this year. Only one Finnish player, Jari Kurri, has been inducted into the HHOF.

The IIHF Hall of Fame was established in 1997.
